THE DAYS TO COME

Catalonia, 2019

Dir.: Carlos Marques-Marcet

94’

Language: Catalan

Subtitles: English

Vir and Lluís have only been seeing each other for a year when they find out that they are pregnant. Through the evolution of the actor couple’s actual pregnancy, this film explores the difficulty of sharing this profoundly transformative experience with a partner.

Over nine months, the film follows the adventure of this young couple from Barcelona: the enormous turn their lives will take, their fears and joys, their expectations and the realities that grow before them during pregnancy. The Days to Come is a detailed account of learning to be three, when you’ve not had the time to learn to be two.
